Mit nachfolgender Anleitung kannst du das KERS/DRS System in F1 Challenge nachrüsten. Es steht allerdings nur dir und nicht den KI-Fahrer zur Verfügung. Genau genommen handelt es sich also um einen Cheat. ;)
Step 1: Open your .PLR file with Notepad (in case you don't know, the .PLR file is located in C:/Program Files/EA Sports/F1 Challenge 99-02/Save/"YourPlayerName"/"YourPlayerName".PLR. Find the line under "Controls" that reads
Options Num Controls="26" // Number of configurable controls displayed in options
Change the "26" to "48".
Step 2: Open the .HDV file with Notepad for the vehicle you want to enable KERS/DRS on.(e.g. C:/Program Files/EA Sports/F1 Challenge 99-02/SeasonData/Vehicles/Mclaren/1999_MP4-14/1999_Mclaren.HDV. Go down to the [CONTROLS] section and find the lines that read
HandbrakePressRange=(0.00, 0.05, 1) // disabled for F1 ... intended for rally-type cars
and
HandbrakePressSetting=0
Change them so they read
HandbrakePressRange=(-0.10, -0.05, 0) // disabled for F1 ... intended for rally-type cars
and
HandbrakePressSetting=1
Now enter the game, enter the controls section, and assign a key to "Handbrake". This will be your KERS button!
The way this works is by using the handbrake. By assigning negative values to the handbrake, activating it will cause your car to speed up. Note, however, that the A.I. cannot use this feature, so it gives you a decided advantage over your competitors. So is this KERS or DRS? It's whichever one you want, or both!
Please note that with mechanical failures set to "normal", using DRS/KERS will accelerate your rear brake wear rapidly. If your using this You will need to turn mechanical failures "off" for best results.
